The antidote to oversharing has arrived. Vagueposting is anything I want to hear, oversharing is anything I don’t want to hear. For years, the personal essay industrial complex wreaked havoc on our personal lives. Writers scrounged around for their messiest, most traumatic stories, to be relished in excruciating detail on the page. Propriety was for prudes. Vulnerability was debated by Emily Gould and Jia Tolentino. I wrote my college thesis defending the “overshare” as a “political strategy.”
