It has to be the fulfillment of some divine will that Christopher Nolan finally got around to making The Odyssey. After so many movies about wife guys who just want to get back home, he’s finally pulled a very Nolan-esque move and made his way back to where it all started. It was never in serious doubt that the reigning king of the thoughtful epic would do justice to Homer’s wine-dark seas, Odysseus’s earnest yearning, and the original’s nested narrative.
