The New Right as Intellectual Movement

On April 17, 2026, the Parrhesia Program for Public Thought and Discourse at the University of Chicago hosted “Covering the New Right.” This two-panel event, co-hosted by The Point, brought together scholars, journalists and critics to discuss the ideas and culture of the New Right, as well as the distinctive challenges of “covering” a movement that has often defined itself against mainstream institutions in academia and journalism.
