In 2004, Anna Kournikova stepped onto the court at the World Team Tennis Smash Hits charity event wearing a pink diamond ring so cartoonishly large it became a permanent fixture of Y2K visual mythology. Whether it was an official engagement ring was never confirmed, but she joined a newly minted club of millennium-era pink diamond devotees that included Jennifer Lopez, Victoria Beckham, and Mariah Carey.
