Tim Cook (Still) Believes in Crazy Ideas

We had an Apple IIe. My parents gave it to my brother, my sisters, and me for Christmas in 1983, and I can still see their laughing, slightly mystified faces as we tore through the paper in the living room, shrieking with excitement that we had one now. We had an Apple computer. It was beige, like the boxy Wang word processors at our father’s office, but it looked better. Friendlier. Its corners were rounded. When we turned it on, there was a little trash can in the corner of the screen.
