Teaching and Mimetic Dysfunction

If you have had the chance to fill out a recent college teaching application in the U.S., you may have noticed that you are required to write a Teaching Statement, now simply referred to as a Student Centered Teaching Philosophy, a sort of edict where you, as a candidate for a teaching position, demonstrate your commitment to a student-centered model in which the instructor is no longer a leading persona in the classroom.
