The Real Crisis of Literacy – We’re Reading Too Much

Not long ago, in a bid to become even more insufferable, I finally got rid of my smartphone. I’ve already proselytised enough to friends about the benefits – increased concentration span, better sleep, bizarrely thick hair growth – so I won’t go into all of that here. Something less obvious I’ve noticed, though, is just how much less dominated my life now is by language.
