Cameron Crowe. A name synonymous with the music world since he began writing about it in the early 1970s. If you’ve seen his film Almost Famous, you get the gist of his life: a protective, loving, force of a mother who essentially banned rock 'n' roll from the house; a sister who left him the gift of her record collection; a mentor in legendary rock critic Lester Bangs; and a magazine willing to take a chance on an unknown kid.
