What does a screen do?
We stare into screens all the time. But we take their form for granted. Why this plane? This surface? Why must the 2D continually slice the 3D world we inhabit? Why has it made itself seem so universally necessary? It justifies itself through its alleged conveniences, but is the function of the screen actually to provide convenience? To make life smoother and easier?
