I saw The Terminator on a Saturday night at a theater in the West Village near 8th Street that had the feel of a 42nd Street house. The theater was packed, racially mixed, everyone talking at the screen, stoned out and blown away by what they were looking at. James Cameron knows what the audience is looking for and how to give it to them. I was getting the same hit that George Miller delivered in The Road Warrior, a physical rush. I wanted to do that too.
