A Soldier for Synthesis

Frank S. Meyer was an extraordinary man, so it’s unsurprising that his life is full of colorful stories. Interesting people always seemed to want to know him; noteworthy things always seemed to be happening in his orbit. It’s hard to choose a favorite Meyer story, but if it came to it, I would highlight the tale of how he emerged from his dissolute, communist youth to become a leading conservative intellectual.
