Violence and Beauty

We’re often asked how we pick our magazine covers. It’s a task that, for the past decade, has mostly fallen to me, as The Point’s managing editor and de facto art editor. In fact, one of my first projects when I joined the magazine in 2014 was to redesign the cover—creating a more consistent visual identity, adding text for quick browsing, and steering the art direction more generally toward contemporary art photography that would reflect The Point’s curiosity about modern life and aesthetic experience.
