Ask any of your friends to name their favorite Steven Spielberg movie lately? Because I’m willing to bet the answers—there are many perfectly acceptable responses, by the way—will run the gamut. If you ask me, it’s Jurassic Park by a mile—with a soft spot for The Fabelmans. But maybe you’re like longtime film critic Chris Nashawaty, who—as he wrote in Esquire tribute to a certain Narraganset-laden film’s 50th anniversary—saw Jaws on his sixth birthday and never looked back.
