Where Will the Next Literary Movement Come From?

In October 2021, I attended a literary reading that was also a twilight moment. Like many things, I wouldn’t understand the importance of it until after it passed: Megan Boyle, Blake Butler, Sean Thor Conroe, Fiona Alison Duncan, Leo Johnson, Zans Brady Krohn, Nico Walker, and Rachel Rabbit White on the mic at KGB Bar in New York City. I think everyone read, though this was the era of nascent projects using gluttonous party posters to farm engagement off name recognition, listing people who had no obligation to actually attend.
