Shortly before Easter this year, I took some time off from work and social media to reflect on my future. One of the things I ended up reflecting on is the Christian idea of God’s love. It’s all I was hearing while attending Catholic mass in Budapest that week for the first time in a while. As a Christian, raised Catholic, I always took that for granted. But the truth is that God can also crush us—and often does. How do we reconcile the two?
