Most people know Professor Richard Feynman as the “great explainer.” He was a talented theoretical physicist (notable for the development of the “Feynman diagram”) who worked on the Manhattan Project, an enthusiastic teacher, and a funny, relaxed, charismatic personality. What few know is that Feynman was also a talented artist — a hobby he got into in his forties and continued late into life. While his work was mostly simple pencil sketches of models, friends, and landscapes, it was surprisingly beautiful for his having no formal training beyond his friend Jirayr Zorthian’s weekly lessons.
