But 6-foot-8 basketball legends don’t just blend into the shadows, and soon a receiving line has formed.
Here comes Donovan Mitchell for a handshake/hug, followed by Larry Nance Jr. and a pair of Bickerstaffs (J.B. and Bernie), among others. A decade has passed since McGrady’s last NBA game but—as this scene at the NBA’s summer league underscored earlier this month—his magnetism remains potent. As does his influence on the game at large.
