This picture of us on the sand that afternoon came back to me while reading Homesickness, the new collection of short stories by Mayo writer Colin Barrett, his follow-up to his first collection Young Skins (2013), in which he further atomizes a range of often unsettled characters, almost exclusively in the towns and villages of Mayo.
