Our Godard

Anybody who has done a decent amount of research into Jean-Luc Godard knew that it was not terribly hard to find him if you really wanted to, in spite of his reputation as a recluse. He appeared on Google Street View walking down the street, and you could look up his address online. I never have much to say to giants. It was enough to know that he was out there—smoking a cigar, whining, planning—while I was elsewhere doing those same things, only much worse.
