A Pattern Language is the masterpiece of Christopher Alexander, an architectural theorist who spent most of his career as a professor at the Berkeley School of Architecture. He died in March of this year. My copy sits on my desk as I write this. It is the fourth copy, or perhaps the fifth, that I have owned.
