Kenneth Clark (1903-1983) thought of himself as a writer, which indeed he was, producing numerous fine works of art history ranging from Rembrandt to the Italian Renaissance to the nude and two of the best 20th-century British autobiographies, Another Part of the Wood and The Other Half.
