Marine Staff Sgt. Lucas A. Dyer wanted to accomplish two objectives with his book: preserve history and offer a glimpse into what it was like in Afghanistan.
“A Battle Won By Handshakes” has sold more than 4,500 copies since being published in June.
It’s the first book Dyer has written, though he contributes nutrition stories to Jiu-Jitsu magazine. Dyer lives in San Juan Capistrano with his wife, Jessica, and 10-month-old son, Dalton. He has a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Park University.
