No, wait. Jim Carrey, the actor, said that in the 2003 movie “Bruce Almighty.”
Actually the famous saying is, “Behind every great man is a great woman.” Nobody knows for sure who said it first, but it’s been passed along enough times through the years to become part of our culture’s accepted wisdom.
Now, just in time for Women’s History Month, a Sweetwater High School teacher has written a book that provides a back story to the cliché — 40 back stories about the wives of famous (and sometimes infamous) men.
