New York (July 30, 2013, 1:20 PM ET) -- An author who has been unable to get new Sherlock Holmes stories he edited published because Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's estate has threatened him with copyright litigation if they go to press asked an Illinois court on Monday to end the dispute, arguing that Holmes has passed into the public domain.
