Graduated from college in the early ‘90s, my first job involved a fair amount of travel such that I was quickly a top level frequent flyer on Continental Airlines. As frequent flyers know, the payoff for dealing with airport security (even then) and regularly delayed flights was and is the possibility of an upgrade to first class with seats that are actually meant to house a human body of normal size.
