Stranded in the musty deeps of the Natural History Museum, the near-naked and now armless statue of Eugen Sandow could almost be mistaken for one of those Michelangelo nudes to which his fig-leafed Body Beautiful was once compared – if it were not for an immaculately carved moustache.
